Geum River, which starts from Ddeunbong Spring in Subun-ri, Jangsgun, Jeollabuk-do, passes Muju and Jinan in Jeollabuk-do and flows through Chungcheongbuk-do and Chungcheongnam-do, providing them with water. It is a long, wide river which flows 402 km from Ddeunbong Spring to the river mouth at Seocheon in Chungcheongnam-do.
Daedunsan Mountain, a provincial park spread between the two provinces of Chungcheongnam-do and Jeollabuk-do, is like a beautiful picture. In Chungcheongnam-do Province, Daedunsan Mountain (878m) covers parts of Jinsan-myeon in Gunsan-gun, Yangchon-myeon in Nonsan-si, and Unju-myeon in Wanj-gun.
The name of this place is Gaesam-teo, and it commemorates an event 1,500 years ago when Gang Cheosa was amazed by ginseng after it completely cured his mother of illness and was the first to scatter ginseng seeds here, finally succeeding in cultivating it.
Seodaesan towers imposingly by itself. The view from the top is amazing, but the harmony between Bawi Peak and the green forest below also makes it beautiful to look at. Seodaesan stands between Chubu-myeon and Gunbuk-myeon at the northernmost part of Geumsan-eup.
Geumsan Forest and Mountain Culture Town has facilities such as the Nami Natural Relaxation Forest, Neutigol Mountain and Forest Swimming Area, Mountain and Forest Ecology Culture Experience Center, and Wood Culture Experience Center, and is a famous spot in Geumsan which allows you to experience all the culture of the forest.
7 km to the east of Geumsan, this area is spread out between mountains and rivers, ancient cultural sites and old battlefields from the Japanese invasion of 1592.
The largest medicinal herb market in the Chungcheong area and one of the three largest in the country, selling medicinal herbs, unprocessed ingredients, and health foods.
This place is a memorial which holds the remains of 700 soldiers during the Japanese invasion of 1592 who faced an army of 15,000 Japanese soldiers. Although they had inferior numbers they dealt a heavy blow against the enemy and heroically gave their lives.
The name “Weolyeongsan” means “mountain that meets the moon”, and it is said that on the night of the full moon people came here to tell the fortunes of a good harvest. If you reach the middle of Geumsan’s famous Weolyeongsan (529 m), the wonderful mountains surrounding it lean in to greet you.
Maninsan, considered the most auspicious site during the Joseon Dynasty, holds the placenta chamber of King Taejo. In Yogwang-ri, Chubu-myeon, Geumsan County, on a small road entering the county seat, stands the Yogwang Gingko Tree.
